# JourneyBay now works inside ChatGPT: plan trips in the conversation

JourneyBay comes to where people already talk to AI. You can now put a whole trip together right inside ChatGPT — maps, day-by-day itineraries, and place cards open interactively in the chat itself.

On July 8, 2026, JourneyBay, an AI Travel Engine for trip planning, launched its app for ChatGPT. Users can search places, create trips, generate and adjust day-by-day itineraries, manage saved places, and check visa context — without leaving the ChatGPT conversation. Results open as interactive maps, day schedules, and place cards right inside the chat, instead of a plain text reply.

The app is backed by a set of 25 travel tools: inside ChatGPT, the AI chat searches, adds, reorders, and refines trip details, and imports an itinerary sketched out in the conversation straight into JourneyBay.

## Planning becomes a conversation

Preparing a trip used to mean a dozen tabs, notes, and jumps between services. Now you just describe the trip in words — "Create a 4-day trip to Barcelona," "Build a day-by-day itinerary," "Find ramen spots in Tokyo," "What visa do I need for Japan" — and JourneyBay lays it out in a form you can work with right away.

## Works beyond ChatGPT

JourneyBay is built on the open [MCP (Model Context Protocol)](/blog/mcp-servers-explained/), so the same app is available in other AI clients — Claude, Gemini, Codex, Cursor, and VS Code. Developers can [spin up the same kind of MCP server](/blog/build-mcp-server-python/) for their own tools. The app only works with the data a user has authorized.
